The Junior Academy Kicks Off

Dear Mums and dads,

On behalf of the whole committee I would like to thank those of you who battled
the cold and enabled us to make our first training session such a wonderful
experience. Without your support the whole project would not have been such a
positive exercise. I cant continue without saying what a great turnout by all
those 31 players who made the exercise possible and enjoying getting muddy in
pretty chilly temperatures!!!!For Rahel, Christa and myself is was nothing
short of rewarding sharing the fun with your children.

The club committee is totally devoted to this section of our club, we know this
is our future and without your priceless support the whole structure would
simply not be possible. We value this very very much and look forward to
working with your children for many years to come.

Our next session in on this coming Sunday, a tad earlier nevertheless at
9:30am!! (ouch) The 13th sees a full day of rugby, with our three teams playing
at home after the Academy session finishes. Such home games always have BBQ's,
soft drinks and bits and bobs for all generally orchestrated by our Golden
Oldies, it would be wonderful to see you enjoying the day with the senior
section of the club. An added bonus will be seeing Rahel and Christa playing in
the ladies team immediately after the Academy training finishes!!!!

Next Training session on Sunday April 20th, start 9:30am.

Juniors star in Basel!!!! Sunday May 26th

Ten junors were driven to Basel and represented the rugby club in spell binding fashion scoring tries galore.

Led by Jim Lawrence, a total of 10 rugby hungry juniors made their ways to Basel, Jean-Baptist, Francois, Ian, Mirko, Frank, Baldrian, Henry, Jonas, James and Theo. The Benjamins won 4 of their 6 games playing together with Basel. Jonas scored 6 tries in one match playing in the Poussins.

At the end of the last Benjamins' match, the Basel and Würenlos trainers proposed a joint training with Basel, Zurich and Würenlos before the Yverdon Tournament.

For the next tournament this may be an option outside Academy hours, disappointing was the fact that no senior player managed to acompany the academy players this time round.

Many thanks goes to Jim for his effort and time in making this a memorable time for the future of our club.
